By now I think you’re all aware of how much I love afternoon tea – I’m a sucker for dainty sandwiches, cute selections of cakes and ALL THE TEA. Add to that a stunning view of The Lake District and I am sold.
I was lucky enough to go to The Laura Ashley hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere to try their new afternoon tea ranges and, spoiler alert, it was delicious!
Yep, you read that right – a Laura Ashley hotel! A fully immersive experience where the whole hotel is decorated and designed in Laura Ashley. It is STUNNING and, if there’s something you like, you can find it in one of the Laura Ashley catalogues which are cleverly found all through the hotel.
Afternoon tea which everyone can enjoy

I love it when places make a real effort to cater to as many people as possible, no matter what their dietary requirements are, especially when the options are just as delicious.
The Belsfield has a new range of afternoon teas including; traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. You can go with all your friends, everyone will be catered for and ALL of the afternoon tea’s will look insta-worthy.
I had the vegetarian afternoon tea when I went and WOW it was good. You got just as much as you would on the traditional tea. For savoury’s, there was; cream cheese and cucumber sandwich, brie with apple and date chutney bagel, sage and onion veggie roll and hummus and red peppers on toast.
My favourite has to be the hummus as it was so creamy and full of flavour! The bagels were still warm as well with melted cheese – you really can’t complain!

Now, onto the cakes. The veggie afternoon tea had the same cakes as the traditional but the other afternoon tea ones were different and all sounded amazing.
For the cakes, we had; salted caramel eclairs (amazing), Eton mess, victoria sponge, custard tart and dark chocolate and pistachio cake.
My favourite had to be the eclairs – they were absolutely DEVINE but all of these desserts were delicious.
Overall thoughts on the Laura Ashley hotel, The Belsfield
I couldn’t recommend The Belsfield enough. The staff were so welcoming, the location was beautiful and the afternoon tea was brilliant.
Afternoon tea costs £22.95 – compared to other afternoon tea’s I’ve had at this price it’s really good value for money. You can easily spend the whole afternoon there and would be perfect for celebrating a birthday, special occasion or a catch up with friends.
Afternoon tea is served between 12-5pm every day and you can upgrade with prosecco (£4) or champagne (£7).
