We’ve all been there – you’ve fallen into a funk and everything feels like a lot of effort. You’re not quite sure how to find your spark and feel good again. You know you want to but finding your starting place can feel daunting.
So here’s your 5 step plan to find your spark and make getting up in the morning less of a chore. Just feeling ready to feel good is a step in the right direction and now it’s time to start building on that momentum.
Whether it’s burn out, a flare up or just life, we all fall into these ruts and it’s totally normal. When you feel this happening, don’t beat yourself up about it. Give yourself the space and time to rest, be kind and don’t panic.
5 Steps to find your spark
Especially in these colder months, it can feel like finding your spark is impossible, which is why I wanted to share with you my 5 step process which helps me massively when I’m in a rut, or coming out of a flare-up.
1. Clean your space
They say a tidy space = a tidy mind and I couldn’t agree more.
How often do you find yourself letting things pile up on your desk? And how high is the pile of clothes on the chair?
Set yourself a few hours to truly clean your space. I don’t just mean a little kid up, I mean a full clean. Get the dusters out and the bleach and get everything sparkling.
If you want to go the full Marie Kondo – do it! You might want to use this time to get rid of the things which don’t feel like you anymore, or are holding you back.
Once you’re done, light a candle and fill your space with a more positive energy.
2. Go for a long walk
There’s nothing like a winter walk to blow out the cobwebs. Whether it’s your normal route, or you want to try a completely new walk, getting out for even 30 minutes can make a massive difference.
I like to do this after my deep clean. Not only does it help get over the cleaning fumes (is it just me who uses too much bleach??) it’s also the best feeling walking back into a clean and tidy home.
Plus, it gives you the space to switch off from cleaning mode and come back with a fresh mind.
3. Revisit your goals
How often do you find yourself completely forgetting what your goals are. Or maybe the goals you currently have set don’t fit with where you are now.
Revisit your goals, maybe even redefine them. Ask yourself what you can do in the next week to help take the right steps to your goal.
4. Have a cleansing shower
Cleansing showers are my absolute favourite things. I always come away feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world.
Cleansing showers are both a physical and mental things. The physical element for me is showering, washing my hair,(even a hair mask!), using luxurious body oils, exfoliating – the whole lot! It’s a full pamper session and I always feel amazing afterwards.
The mental/spiritual element is creating a really high vibe experience. Listen to your favourite podcast/playlist/radio station, imagine your dream day/life, tell yourself positive affirmations -it’s all positive self talk here!
5. Create a plan for your week
If I don’t have some sort of plan for my week, I feel so lost. I have no get up and go, and feel really stuck.
When you have a plan or structure to your day, it’s a lot easier to find the momentum to get up.
You don’t have to go and have every minute planned, but a general idea of what needs to be done each day is a great idea.
If you struggle with being overwhelmed, try having 3 things each day to do – or one or two big things. If there’s a big project, break it down into small bitesized chunks to make it feel less daunting.
I hope this has helped you ignite your spark again and you’re feeling ready. Make sure you download our FREE Guide to Reset Days for more guidance on resetting and finding your spark.
