The Estuary, Grange-over-Sands

The Estuary, Grange-over-Sands | Girl eating pizza

It’s safe to say that I love a good lunch out and finding new spots in and around Cumbria is my favourite thing.

A month ago, The Estuary at Grange-over-Sands opened it’s doors to the neighbourhood bistro offering relaxed, casual dining.

On Friday, I headed over to Grange with my mama to have lunch. Seeing as lunching out seems to have become a hobby of mine, I was really excited to try The Estuary’s menu.

We were welcomed to a busy Friday lunch bistro with a buzzing atmosphere. The smell of freshly made pizza filled the air and everywhere you looked, diner’s were tucking into the most amazing looking meals.

As we sat at the bar, Fentiman’s ginger beer in hand, we looked out at the view of Morecambe Bay; even on a grey and slightly windy day, it was a stunning view.

Eating at The Estuary

  • The Estuary, Grange-over-Sands | Flatlay of mushroom, prosciutto, rocket and truffle oil pizza and chicken supreme
  • The Estuary, Grange-over-Sands | Flatlay of sticky toffee pudding and lemon creme brûlée

Now on for the most important thing; THE FOOD! We both had a main and dessert and it’s safe to say it took me a while to choose because the menu had so many things to choose from.

I finally opted for the home-made hand stretched pizza with mushrooms, prosciutto, rocket and truffle oil. One word. AMAZING.

The pizza dough was light and crispy and the truffle oil brought the whole meal together. I always think truffle oil feels so luxurious – perfect for a pre-weekend treat!

Okay, now onto the puddings. I LOVE a pudding and there were some great options to go for. I opted for the classic sticky toffee pudding which was a gooey heaven. The sponge was light and fluffy and the sauce was full of flavour.

I really liked how it wasn’t a huge portion instead it was a small and perfect way to end the meal. Safe to say I was ready for a nap afterwards!

Vegetarian, vegan & allergy choices

The Estuary is really proud to fully cater to vegetarians and vegans as well as allergies (just let them know once you’re there!).

With a full vegan and veggie menu, including the naked vegan pizza, they also have vegan beer, wine and cider and a choice of dairy free milks.

If you’re looking for a relaxed bistro to catch up with friends and have amazing food, The Estuary is the place for you!

  • My meal of hand stretched pizza (prosciutto, mushroom, rocket, truffle oil and Sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch sauce) – £17
