I think one of my biggest passions in life is wellbeing and making sure that my own wellbeing, and that of those around me, is as good as it can be. But when we can’t all be together, how can you spread kindness and joy to each other?
Something which is bound to make you feel good, and your loved ones feel good, is keeping in touch with people and letting them know that you’re there for them.
5 ways to spread kindness during isolation

Send some flowers or a plant
Many of my friends and family members are plant and flower people. And seeing their faces and messages when you’ve sent flowers brings me so much joy because they’re so happy.
Plus, I don’t know about you but having flowers really boosts my mood!
Moonpig don’t just create personalised cards but also have a flower delivery service with a wide range of flowers. From potted plants to bouquets to letterbox Peonie’s, there’s something for everyone you love.
They also have next day delivery and you can choose the exact date you want them as well which is very handy if you’re sending them for birthday’s!
Also, their bouquets are GORGEOUS and the one I was sent actually fitted two vases!
Send a card or letter
You don’t have to spend lots of money to let your friends know you’re there for them. A simple card or letter to say hello is a great way to reach out. It’s a lot more personal to send a card and really takes you back to pen pal days.
Send a friend a book
I am someone who has a lot of books and often, I run out of bookshelf space. Between myself and some friends, we’ve started sending books between us.
That way, we all get new books and only have to pay postage. I love this as me and my friends have similar yet quite different book tastes and it’s great to read books your friends love which you might not pick up otherwise.
Create a care package
Whether you’re sending a hamper or gift to a friend, or create a little package of their favourite things; sending a little gift in the post gives everyone a thrill.
So often, our post is full of bills, tax, Coronavirus pamphlets and junk mail (and those ASOS orders you completely forgot you made!). To have a happy surprise come through the letterbox is bound to make anyones day.
Have regular zoom catchups
I mean, Zoom wasn’t in our vocabulary 10 weeks ago and now we’re all on it constantly. Whilst video calls aren’t the same as seeing your friends in real life, it’s the best we can do right now.
Whether it’s a quiz night or just a catch up, these are great ways to stay connected to people. One of my friends has trained to be a yoga teacher and is doing zoom yoga classes which I can’t wait to take part in this week! (Thank you Eff!)
How are you finding isolation? It can be hard for a lot of people so remember you’re not alone. We’re in that tricky situation at the moment where we don’t really know what we can and can’t do. Personally, I’m sticking to staying home and my dog walks but it’s hard being away from friends and family.
Remember we’re all feeling this way so don’t be worried about reaching out to people. You’ll probably make their day!
