10 habits to add to your daily/weekly routine to help add more wellbeing into your life

Sometimes the idea of wellbeing can feel a bit too much. It can feel like this massive concept which involves completely shifting your whole routine and becoming a new person.

But that isn’t true. There are small, simple habits that you can add to your daily routine to help you feel more well, calm & centred.

The idea of wellbeing is to start listening to your body and your intuition, do what makes you feel good, allow yourself the space to learn and grow.

10 habits to make you feel good

Journalling

Okay, we all know how much I love journaling. It’s something which really has helped shift my mindset and outlook. I’ve processed a lot of things through journaling and I love using prompts to help me really assess where I am, how I’m feeling and what I can do to nourish my soul.

Getting into a daily habit for this has helped. I usually journal on an evening, however, I do use the 90-day manifestation journal as well as my paper one which I send 5 minutes in the morning and evening.

Keep hydrated

Keeping hydrated is so important, no matter what time of day it is.

Want clearer skin, drink more water. Feeling lethargic, drink more water. Have a headache, drink more water.

Obviously, water doesn’t solve everything, but it’s so important to keep hydrated. I don’t know about you, but I can always tell when I haven’t drunk enough. I feel more sluggish, get headaches and feel really grouchy.

They say you’re meant to drink 2 to 3 litres of water however, listen to your body.

Spend time outside daily

Spending time outside is essential for your health and wellbeing.

Whether it’s having your morning coffee outside, your lunch, going for a walk, reading, yoga – try and find a way to spend at least 20 minutes outside for some fresh air.

I promise you, it will make you feel so much better!

Practice Gratitude

Keeping a daily gratitude journal has helped me so much.

I’ve become more positive and have a clearer idea of how I want my days to be filled. It’s taught me what I really want from life and also truly appreciate the smaller things in life.

Stretch

Adding stretching to my daily routine has been really beneficial for my joint and back problems. Sometimes it feels like a lot of effort, but taking the time do some basic yoga stretches has really helped me.

It makes me feel like I’ve done something but also really helps me keep my pain at ease.

Read

I LOVE to read. I was that kid who always had their book with them. However, through uni I lost my love a little bit.

Since I started putting reading into my daily routine, and reading either a chapter of my book when I wake up or before I go to sleep, it’s helped me so much.

I love reading self development books or fiction novels, I find taking this time to really focus helps my mental health a lot.

Celebrate your wins

This is HUGE.

So often we focus on what went wrong. However, taking time and writing out your wins each day really shows just how much you’ve accomplished, every. single. day.

Each night, when your writing your gratitude diary, write down at least 3 wins of the day too (or a lot more if you’ve had a GOOD day).

I love looking back at my wins of the day and feel so good seeing all the things I’ve achieved.

Tidy space, tidy mind

I don’t know about you but when my space feels cluttered, messy, disorganised my mind feels this way too.

A priority I’ve made is that on Sundays, I have a reset day. And a big part of that is spending about an hour cleaning my room and my space. Whether that’s sorting out my wardrobe, making sure my desk is clear, dusting and sorting out my shelves.

Plus, it makes it a lot easier for when you’re doing a deep clean every so often too!

Nourish yourself

I’ve always understood the concept of nourishing yourself with food. However, I don’t think I’ve understood the actual reason why until these past few weeks.

Eating food which is good for you and feeds your soul is KEY. The past 3 weeks I’ve not been able to swallow much food and I’ve been eating a lot of food which isn’t good for me (a lot of chocolate and sandwiches and potato and very little fruit and veg).

And truth be told, I’ve felt awful. My body doesn’t know what it’s doing because I’m not feeding it the way I normally do – to be honest I’m just trying to make sure I’m not hungry!

So find ways to nourish your body with good food. I’m trying to make sure I’m having more soup whilst I’m struggling swallowing!

Work out what makes you feel good

Finding ways which make you feel good, and how you can add goodness to your daily life is essential to your wellbeing.

Ask yourself what makes me feel good? How can I add this to my daily life? I’ve created a whole video for you about it so I’ll leave this for you!
